Who is eligible to apply for the ISD Regional Meeting Grant?

Any active meeting organizer or event planner who is in good standing with the International Society of Dermatology and is organizing a regional or national dermatological meeting may apply. The applicant's organization must be a non-profit, professional association, or recognized dermatological society. The signing applicant and all additional ISD members listed in the application must be ISD members in good standing for at least 1 year.

Are virtual or hybrid meetings eligible?

No. Applications are only accepted for in-person meetings. Virtual-only or hybrid meetings are not eligible for this grant.

Can an organization submit more than one application per cycle?

No. Only one application per organization per grant cycle is permitted.

Is ISD membership required to apply?

Yes. The signing applicant and all additional ISD members listed in the application must be ISD members in good standing for at least 1 year. If you are not yet a member, we encourage you to join the ISD community before applying.

How much funding can I receive?

Funding of up to $5,000 USD may be provided for in-person meetings based on meeting funding requirements and final Executive Committee approval.

How is the grant paid out?

Approved grants are paid by direct money transfer in two installments. The first installment is made available one month prior to the meeting once all required obligations are verified. The second installment is disbursed after the event upon submission and approval of a post-event report (Second Installment Request), submitted no later than 30 days post-meeting.

What can grant funds be used for?

Grant funds should be used to support the educational programming, operational costs of the meeting, and to support new ISD memberships for attendees. A detailed budget breakdown is required as part of the application.

What documents do I need to submit?

You must submit an event proposal and a budget breakdown. Optional supporting documents include organizational registration, letters of support, and other relevant materials. Accepted formats are PDF, Word (.doc/.docx), JPEG, and PNG — maximum 10 MB per file.

Can I edit my application after submitting?

No. Once an application is submitted, it cannot be edited. Please review your application carefully on the summary page before submitting.

When will I hear back about my application?

The Regional Meeting Committee reviews all submissions after the application period closes and makes funding recommendations to the ISD Executive Committee. You will be notified by email once a decision has been made.

Question 12

What is the Second Installment Request?

After your event takes place, you must submit a post-event report — called the Second Installment Request — to receive the second portion of your grant. This report includes actual attendance figures, an event summary, a final budget, and required proof of ISD visibility during the event including photos.

Will ISD promote my meeting?

Yes. ISD will advertise co-sponsored meetings on the ISD website and in appropriate ISD publications, giving your event additional visibility within the global dermatology community.
